Hi, my name is Hernan Hidalgo and I’m organizing a fundraiser for my mom. On June 18, Friday afternoon, my mom admitted herself to the hospital in Tijuana, Mx. because she had a fever, pain in her chest and was having a hard time breathing. We thought it was something that she was going to recover from the same day but little did we know there was a larger problem at play. My mom has a viral infection attacking her body. The longer she was at the hospital the worse she felt. The doctor then recommended my mom stay over night to be monitored. As the night progressed she worsened and needed oxygen to breath better. My family and I wanted to take her home as soon as possible. On Saturday while transporting her to a different hospital in the ambulance, one of my mom’s lungs collapsed and she was put into an induced coma and ended up staying at the same hospital. It’s now Monday and my family is trying to get her to a US hospital to get her better care but the Tijuana hospital is charging us $20,000 before they release her. I normally would not ask for assistance but due to the nature of this situation, we need to get my mom out of there ASAP because her life depends on it. The hospital isn’t doing anything more and my mom needs special medical attention due to the viral infection that has taken over her body. Hola, mi nombre es Hernán Hidalgo y estoy organizando una recaudación de fondos para mi mamá. El 18 de junio, viernes por la tarde, mi madre ingresó al hospital de Tijuana, Mx. porque tenía fiebre, dolor de pecho y dificultad para respirar. Pensamos que era algo de lo que se iba a recuperar el mismo día, pero poco sabíamos que había un problema mayor en juego. Mi mamá tiene una infección viral que ataca su cuerpo. Cuanto más tiempo estaba en el hospital, peor se sentía. Luego, el médico recomendó que mi mamá pasara la noche para ser monitoreada. A medida que avanzaba la noche, empeoró y necesitaba oxígeno para respirar mejor. Mi familia y yo queríamos llevarla a casa lo antes posible. El sábado, mientras la transportaba a otro hospital en la ambulancia, uno de los pulmones de mi madre colapsó y la pusieron en coma inducido y terminó quedándose en el mismo hospital. Ahora es lunes y mi familia está tratando de llevarla a un hospital de US para una mejor atención, pero el hospital de Tijuana nos está cobrando $ 20,000 antes de que le den el alta. Normalmente no pediría ayuda, pero debido a la naturaleza de esta situación, tenemos que sacar a mi mamá de allí lo antes posible porque su vida depende de ello. El hospital no está haciendo nada más y mi mamá necesita atención médica especial debido a la infección viral que se ha apoderado de su cuerpo.
