"Mongrel Bewitching" is a Sheridan Student film set in the 1600s during the Salem Witch Trials. An eerie period piece with the atmosphere of "The VVitch" and the tension of "Inglorious Basterds", it follows a grieving husband conversing with the man who proclaimed his wife a witch, only to learn that the hunt is not over. Our director Brendan Smyth and producer Ian Willcock are extremely passionate about telling this story and bringing this world to life on screen. In their own words:

Hey, I'm Ian Willcock, producer of Mongrel Bewitching! I'm really excited to work on this project and bring it to life, it's not often you see thrillers set in this time period and I think it's a really cool opportunity to do something special!

Hello, I'm Brendan Smyth, the writer and director of Mongrel Bewitching! This project is really important to me because I feel like I am finally getting the opportunity to show what I can create.

Our funds will be used to help cover the costs of filming, mostly location and prop rentals as well as costume design. Being a period piece, this will require specific props and costumes to make sure it is accurate to the time we seek to represent, and we will need a location that is *just* right. We have one in mind that we've reached out to.

The funds will also be used for "everyday" expenses such as food, gas, water, etc. to make sure our cast and crew stay well-fed, hydrated and warm, especially because we're going to be shooting during March when the weather can be unpredictable.
