Mother Ocean Eco Arts Tour

Hi There,
I'm Craigus McVegas, a musician and environmental activist. For the past 5 years I have been organising campaigns for environmental and social justice, and last year my journey took me to the incredible country of Mongolia to help the Mongolian Green Party defend their country against foreign mining companies.
In July this year, I have organised 50 artists, musicians, and activists from around the world to take part in a two-week arts and environment tour of this culturally rich and beautiful country. These passionate environmental defenders will support a UNESCO application for world heritage protection of Mongolia's largest freshwater body, Lake Khovsgol, containing 70% of the countries fresh water.
Funds raised by this campaign will be used to hire a bus to transport the artists from the capital Ulaanbaatar to the remote lake near the Russian border. The artists will create, perform, and stay with local families in towns and villages along the way, who will provide modest accommodation and traditional meals. The artists have all paid for their own flights and VISAs themselves, however, we need your support to cover the artists' food, shelter, and in-country transportation.
The Mongolian wilderness is being destroyed by greedy foreign mining companies. While campaigning in Ulaanbaatar last year, I connected with a number of Mongolian activists and academics who are working toward protection of sacred Lake Khovsgol. Public awareness of the dangers facing the lake is the highest priority, and a large group of local and international artists will generate a huge amount of interest, putting the protection of Lake Khovsgol squarely into the national conversation. This will contribute to the application for UNESCO World Heritage listing for the lake and surrounding area, which will be lodged in September.
This is the most ambitious and important project I have ever worked on. Protecting this precious wilderness area full of wild horses, wolves, bears, elk, and eagles is a dream for me, and the Mongolian people. Your support for this campaign will ensure the protection of one of the worlds most beautiful and sacred wilderness areas, an ongoing gift you will be giving to our shared mother, Earth.
