My cousin Elizabeth Stetson Caldwell is mom to 6 beautiful children with one more on the way. Her 12 year old son, Peyton Ty started with an illness on June 15th. His sister had a viral illness that cleared up in 10 days so Elizabeth let it run its course. Three weeks later he was still sick so she brought him to Express Clinic on July 6th. He tested positive for strep and started a course of antibiotics which he finished. He had a scheduled tonsillectomy on July 12th. He started running fevers of 102. Elizabeth brought him to the ER on July 20th. The doctor ordered a CAT scan and didn’t find anything. Two days later he had a follow-up with his own doctor. They found a sinus infection and the strep hadn’t cleared. Another round of antibiotics. Back to his doctor a week later. There was still no change. They admitted him to Oklahoma University Children’s Medical Hospital an hour and a half from Elizabeth’s home. They found he had a Staph infection and sent some biopsies to the lab. They are waiting on the results. Anyone who has had a very sick child knows how scary it can be. Add to that the fact that she is away from her other children and it becomes very stressful. Add to that her inability to work while staying with her sick son and the stress multiplies. If anyone can help by donating to help Elizabeth meet her household expenses, gas money, and money for meals at the hospital. It will be greatly appreciated.
