There are few creatures in this world that can spread joy wherever they go, but Fae is one of them. She's technically Hache's doggy, but she squirreled herself way into everybody's hearts so thoroughly, that when she's around, there is actually competition to provide for her. She's given a lot to us, as she's known for being an excellent listener and an exceedingly polite conversationalist. She's good for hugs and is an enthusiastic napping partner. Here's the thing: Fae really, really likes snacks. Her zeal for treats is so great that, from time to time, she eats something that's not food. Recently, that tendency turned around and bit her... she swallowed something that got stuck and clogged her intestinal line. Hache, being the absolutely committed pet owner he is, saw only one clear path forward, took her into the vet multiple times (including in the middle of the night) and learned that she could likely be saved with surgery. He approved the surgery and Fae is still with us (but they're not out of the woods yet)! That's great news because none of us want to live without her but the cost of the surgery was staggering and the cost of her recovery care is likely to rise. She'll need to stay off her feet for at least a couple of weeks. Dogs are terrible at that so Hache will be holing up and taking care of her. She is in excellent hands and will receive stellar care.
It's going to be rough going for quite some time for Hache and Fae and they could certainly use a bit of help. If you can find it in your heart to open your wallet, know that every little bit will add up and might just go a long way to getting Fae and Hache back to their weekday community where they are beloved, and right now, sorely missed.
As a family, let's pull together and take care of our own. Hache and Fae can use any help that we can give.
