My big brother Dan, who has Stage IV metastatic sarcoma, was working for a start up surgical company in Israel called 270 Surgical for the past 20 months as a 1099. What they paid him monthly was less than his monthly bills so he has no savings. He pays $900 a month for his own health insurance and his quarterly medical bills are around $3,700. He finds himself, unexpectedly, in a bad cash position.
Last week, out of the blue and with no warning, 270 Surgical in Israel (not the US branch) told him they were not going to pay him his $5,000 for January (he worked for them the entire month, participated in meetings all month, got orders for them in January, etc) and that they would not be reimbursing him the $10,000 or so that he spent on expenses traveling for 270 Surgical for work from July to December, 2021. He is going to look for a new job now and that will take time. Probably more time since he has cancer and cannot travel well.
I am starting this GoFundMe to make up part if not all of the $15K that 270 Surgical in Israel owes my big brother, plus to cover his Feb/March medical bills while looking for a new job. If you are in the surgical sales field and if Danny helped you at all in the last 35 years, please kick in what you can. It's tough enough to have cancer and then to have the company you trust do this to you with no warning? As you might imagine, as his little sister I am shocked and disgusted. Thanks for helping out my brother in his time of need. He is too proud to do this himself, so I am jumping in.
