MISSION STATEMENT
Guided by the song MONEY from the award winning musical CABARET, and through a mix of choreography and visual storytelling, we hope to invite our audience to reflect on power, desire, and the human cost of wealth. We hope to create a haunting experience that reveals shocking truths about money.
STORY
"MONEY" is a dance film shown in the style of a short cinematic piece. We seek to create a haunting experience that shocks and hopefully reveals disturbing truths about money.
Our goal with this project is a bold perspective. We want to open a view into how these dynamics in our world coincide with one another. We want to create this visual story now as capitalism continues to rise. We want to show that money can often be an evil that creates monsters in us all. Can take the most beautiful things and ruin them through greed and entitlement.
We have 4 dancers! We hope to show the relationship between the working and upper class. A look into how the upper class often exploits them to sustain themselves. A single ballerina bearing the blunt is being pulled in every direction as a puppet for the masses. Our 3 “Suits”, contemporary dancers that perform as the 1% manipulating not only the working class but one another in their quest for more money.
Thank You!
This money will go towards renting out our space to be used by the crew/cast! We want to be able to pay our crew/cast a good rate so that they are compensated for all the hard work they are doing for this project!
From our team to you, THANK YOU for supporting Latino Filmmakers!!
