Help Me Continue Supporting My Mom’s Recovery
Donation protected
On October 14th, my mom was rushed to the hospital after a severe stroke caused a massive brain bleed. When she arrived, neurosurgeons were not hopeful—her only sign of life was a cough. She was rushed into emergency surgery, and, by God’s grace, she made it through.
After surgery, doctors told us it wasn’t a matter of when she would wake up but if she would wake up at all. But through the power of prayer from family, friends, and loved ones, she defied the odds and opened her eyes! 72 hours later she was breathing on her own ready to be taken off the ventilator!
Here is where our new journey begins. Recovery, doctors have advised us to prepare for a marathon rather than a sprint. They estimate that the road to healing may take up to a year, not just a few weeks. My mom will require extensive rehabilitation to regain her mobility, speech, and full memory. As her only child and next of kin, I’ve taken on the role of her full-time caregiver. Balancing this responsibility with my studies as a full-time student at VCU has forced me to step back from my full-time job. Although I’ve stepped back from full-time I will resume part time upon her release to rehabilitation. In the mean time it is still essential for me to manage both her bills and my own until she can return to her normal life.
Why We Need Your Help
Balancing my studies, caregiving, and the financial burden is overwhelming. Your support will help me focus on my mom’s recovery without falling to far behind on our essential bills.
This is a temporary need, but these early months are critical. Your contributions will help cover rent, transportation, care essentials, and other living expenses while we adjust to this new reality.
How You Can Help
Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. Though I understand times are hard for everyone and If you can’t donate, I ask that you please consider sharing our story with others or keeping us in your prayers.
We are deeply grateful for your kindness, love, and support. Thank you for standing with us on this journey.
