Mondragon Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My name is Nichole Tow and I am requesting your help in raising money for the Mondragon family. Evan and Nikki will be faced with a great amount of medical expenses due to their twins hospitalization and their daughter's flight to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Both Evan and Nikki have needed to be absent from work to care for their young children and will experience a financial hardship.
Evan and Nikki are two of the nicest people I know and would give their shirts off their back to help others. Let's show them the same love and support as they focus on getting their three year old twins, Cruz and Caillat, healthy and home.
Here is their story:
On March 27th our 3 year-old son started running a fever and had a cough. We thought it was just a cold and gave him a few days at home to get better, but on March 29th his symptoms were getting worse. We took him to urgent care where they found his oxygen levels too low and sent us to the Emergency Room. There he tested positive for Human metapneumovirus. He was admitted to Summit Medical Center at that time. There they discovered that he had developed pneumonia. After a week of treatments he was released on April 5th. He came home with oxygen and medical equipment to monitor his recovery.
While he was in the hospital, his twin sister started developing similar symptoms. On April 5th, the same day her brother was released, she was admitted into the same hospital. She also had Human metapneumovirus and dangerously low oxygen levels.
After two nights of very close monitoring they decided she needed more specialized care. She was flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where she was placed in the Pediatric ICU. She is currently being given large amounts of oxygen because she is unable to maintain her breathing on her own. We do not have a time frame for her release, but we know that she is in good hands and are grateful for the help she is receiving.
