Join me in creating a safe environment in which to raise and protect Monarch butterflies in Downeast Maine
Friends, I need your help! I have been on a mission to help Monarch Butterflies thrive. Three years ago, I started Kvetina Monarch Hatchery raising and tagging over 1200 Monarch butterflies.
I grow the Milkweed and tend to them daily, cataloging each chrysallis, tagging the butterflies and logging that informaiton in Monarch Watch. This is truly a labor of love.
Unfortunately, the hatchery must move this year, and I need your support to make it happen. The property owner who provided space for the hatchery has passed away. I am lucky that a community member believes in the plight of the Monarch and has offered a permanent space to set up operations.
The hatchery urgently needs two 8' square wooden screen houses - one for the caterpillars and the other for the chrysalis and butterflies.
This hatchery will serve as a safe haven for monarch eggs to hatch, caterpillars to grow, and butterflies to flourish before they embark on their remarkable migration journey.
Your contribution will ensure the hatchery can continue its vital work of conservation, education, and community engagement.
