In 2011 we lost our 5 month old son, Bryce, to SIDS and were so devastated that we didn't want to have another baby. In 2013 we decided we wanted to extend our family and in 2014 we got pregnant, but ended up having a miscarriage. The doctor thought there might be infertility issues so we tried for seven months to get pregnant using chlomid (a pill that helps infertility). When that was unsuccessful, the doctor suggested a laparoscopic cysterectomy to try and remove the cysts from my ovaries, (which she thought might also be an issue) but the surgery was not successful. When I got out of surgery she told me it would be a miracle if I got pregnant on my own, and that IVF is really our only option. We didn't want to believe her, because we know our God is a God of miracles, so we tried naturally for a year, with no success. In the beginning of 2016 we decided to look into IVF. We checked out a couple of different facilities and decided on University of Michigan Health Systems. We have started the process and are realizing the stress is greater than we imagined. One round of the medicine is $2400-$3400 and there is no guarantee it will work. Meds have to be paid upfront and out of pocket. The procedure itself (and everything that has to be done to prep for it) can range from $4000-$7000 per round. We are asking for donations to relieve some of the financial stress in hopes this will help us build our family.
