Hello all, I'm coming to you today to ask for your help and support in my family's time of need. This past Tuesday November 8th my mother was informed that she has A Chiari malformation and would need to have neurosurgery on December 1st, 2016.
A Chiari malformation is the lowest part of the back of the brain extends into the spinal canal. This can put pressure on the brain stem, spinal cord, and obstruct the flow of fluid which causes fluid to build around the spinal cord. Which causes severe headaches, neck pain, dizziness, muscle weakness, blurred vision amongst other things.
Recovery time for this procedure is minimum 8-12 weeks which means my mother will be off work for the next 3 months following the surgery. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help cope with loss of income and family expenses.
