Hey everyone! As some of you may or may not know, the Bremner family has been going through some tougher times as of late. Many of you who have met my mom know she's always the happy, funny, song-singing, welcoming, kind woman that is always willing to go way above and beyond for those who have been lucky enough to call her a friend. She's provided great times for all of her/our friends and provided for my sister and I way beyond the best of her ability for the longest time. I can't possibly thank her enough for being an awesome mom.
Within the last year however, her ability to walk has become very difficult and she is in constant pain all day. Recently we found out that the cause of this was that her femur is starting to deform as there is no cartilidge left in her right hip, thus making daily tasks and normal activities like walking, bending, stretching, even sleeping a very painful process. We've tried physical therapy, exercise, and all different routes prior to help mitigate the pain, but it isn't getting any better and the severity is increasing. Having to be constantly on very strong pain medication is taxing not only on her body but on our hearts to see her that way.
With that, she is faced with having to undergo major hip replacement surgery so that she can walk and live a normal life again. The problem is that medical/living costs are exponentially high, even with insurance. Even more so as she will not be able to work for possibly up to six months which leaves major medical cost and living expenses upon my sister and I. Even with as much as we can contribute, there is a major chunk of our monthly bills that can no longer be met since she will be out of work and the extra financial burden that is now unavoidable.
She is expected to have her surgery November 3rd. We would appreciate ANY amount that you could provide to help ease this difficult time for us. I hate having to go this route but I'm out of options at this point. The total cost of the surgery is around $30k but with insurance it covers 85% of it. This doesn't account for the extra $1k per month we are short without my mom being able to work, but I'm trying to cover the major costs and figure out the rest myself.
This would mean so much to my family and I and we would grateful for any kind of help or donation to softening this unexpected hardship. I'm incredibly thankful for those who have already helped donate and arranged for care of my mom during her recovery time when we are unable to because of work during the day.
Love you all and thank you again for reading!
