Mom's Cancer Bills (Dede Betz)
Donation protected
03/31/2023 UPDATE: Mom is doing well since completing her treatments and has received all clear from her Dr that her cancer is gone. Prayers were heard and answered. She is slowly gaining her strength back, she takes short walks in her neighborhood and joins Johnny when walking Rylee. She is looking forward to traveling again to visit all the family and see her grandbabies and newest grandbaby Beau. I miss her so much and miss waking up and being able to help her and care for her. It's good that she doesn't physically need me anymore, but I am still making sure she is taken care of. With that said, now that all her treatments are done and follow-up appointments she is starting to get bills she wasn't expecting. So I am once again sharing her Go Fund Me to help cover these bills. On her limited income, these bills will break her. If you can, donate, if not, please share. God Bless.
02/09/2023 UPDATE: Mom has completed all her treatments and got to ring the bell on January 30th, it was truly an amazing day. She thought the day would never come, she had days of pure struggle and wanted to throw in the towel. In those darkest moments, she would reach to the Lord for strength and guidance. Her faith played a huge part in her recovery. God is good. Mom's struggle now is her red blood cell counts. She is facing the transfusion she turned down a few treatments ago (because it wasn't necessary but a choice at that time), she is very weak, extremely fatigued and anemic. A blood transfusion will help her feel better. Right now she is at risk for so many things, too many to list. We are $532 away from the GFM goal, I leave tomorrow to head back home and then mom is on her own. I'm dealing with what I can today to fix issues with hospital billing balances that we don't owe despite what they are saying, setting appointments for the transfusion, and so on, plus handling last-minute things for my grandma for my mom. Please help me reach this goal so she has money to cover these appointments while I'm gone, so there are no stresses on her part. God bless!!
UPDATE: Mom has radiation tomorrow with a port draw to test her white blood cell count. It is so low already that Dr has ordered her to stay inside and DO NOT leave unless absolutely necessary and must wear a mask. They have even ordered blood in case she needs a transfusion. Her next chemo treatment will be pushed until her counts are up. She is so scared and has cried more in the last 2 days then in the last 5 months I have been here. And who know how much a transfusion at the hospital will cost! Another added expense. I'm doing everything I can to take the stress off her shoulders, please help me do that. If you can, donate, if not please share with others. God bless.

UPDATE: Mom struggles daily with her energy and fatigue. The smallest of tasks bring her down, often frustrating her. She has gone from being able to do for herself to having it done for her. The person in the mirror is a woman she no longer recognizes. Her hair is gone and the Taxol sores have taken over. She wraps herself in every blanket in site, her feet are always cold, she can never manage to get warm and she suffers from Neuropathy. She never gets a good nights sleep and she often cries in the shower. This Go Fund Me has helped my mother so much so far with her medical bills, co-pays, prescription medications and other things she may needs and I am forever grateful to all those who have donated. With the first of the year approaching, deductibles start over and out of pocket costs are crazy expensive, Mom has 2 more chemotherapy treatments and starts Radiation treatments (3) in January. Wonderhussy, sharing moms page is amazing and a huge help.
Hello, myself and my brother are starting this Go Fund me on behalf of my mother, Dede Betz. On August 26th of this year, my mother's life changed forever; she was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer. She was told that if it was confined to the uterus and less than 50%, doctors could remove everything with a total hysterectomy. September 19th at 7:30 am, after a few special quiet moments and a prayer, I sent my mom off for what was supposed to be a 2-hour to a 4-hour surgery. 6.5 hours later, with no updates except a color-coated ticker board, a doctor finally came out. We were told the cancer was worse than expected, and treatment may be needed, but we won't know anything until her e-health follow-up on October 7th. We then had to wait 3 hours to see her in recovery and didn't get into a room until 8 pm that evening. Her overnight stay in the hospital was horrible (her words). If I had not been in the room with her, she would never have gotten water, ice chips, a HOT meal, or would have been made comfortable. Our mother's care and well-being are our top priority, and we will do what is necessary to make her comfortable and happy and assist her in any way we can. She received her pathology results on October 7th, which was not what we were hoping and praying for. Her cancer spread outside her uterus to the right fallopian tube, and even with a total hysterectomy, there is a concern there may be cancerous cells in the vaginal area. Our fantastic mom is facing six weeks of chemotherapy and four weeks of radiation. Our mom would give the shoes off her feet, the clothes off her back, and the food from her plate to help another, no questions asked. She has the biggest heart, lights up every room she enters, and finds the good in every situation and everybody. She has medical insurance covering part of these treatments and medications; however, she will have co-pays and other expenses. Social security and disability are what her income consists of. The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards our mom's medical bills, medication, gas to and from treatments and any other needs she may have during this difficult time. She is facing six chemotherapy treatments and four radiation treatments. Chemotherapy will be one treatment every three weeks. After her first three chemo treatments, she will do her four radiation treatments, then do her last three chemo treatments. The next six months plus will be very rough journey for our mom, and I (thanks to my amazing husband and family) will be by her side during her treatments and every step of the way. Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers for our mother. Please continue them and if you can donate to her fundraiser, thank you, if not, please share. Kate and Greg
