This is my story

I just moved back home—right into the same house with Mom. Every morning I see her grab that vest, head out early, cross kids like she's been doing it for most of her life. In all types of weather. She has had posts on 6th Street and Central Ave, Mt. Vernon and Lincoln, Hazelton & Teaneck Road, Main Street and Mt. Vernon Street, Bergen Ave and Mt. Vernon. Now she is at Austin and Lincoln. My mom has been a crossing guard for Roosevelt School St. Francis School Thomas Jefferson School on Lincoln School . She iss currently a crossing guard at Lincoln School . To all of crossing guards in town you all deserve a shout out.

Most folks in town remember her from Lincoln School—if their kids went there, they know her. All my old friends who grew up with me? They still talk about how she'd wave us across like we were family. She's seen kids grow up, and now they're bringing their own kids.

If you met her, you'd get why—she's the nicest woman you'll ever know. She always loves to say good morning, happy Friday, and jokingly says she can't wait for summer vacation—like she's the one counting down for recess.

And now is where I'd like to explain why I'm starting this GoFundMe. I'm excited to do something for my mother—I've been planning this, and I'm going through with it. I have money saved up to keep maxing her Roth IRA from year two through twenty, as much as I can, so she can have fun, live freely, travel, do whatever she wants. I want my mom to have the best of times because she loves what she does, and if I can help her with a little extra, that'd be awesome.

My main objective? Get her started on a Roth IRA—$6,000 for launching it as the goal, tax-free growth. If we go over that—say, up to $8,600—it'd be exceedingly amazing, especially since she's 56 and gets that extra catch-up from the IRS. I'd tell anyone to try this. That first $6,000? It's the warm little spark that keeps growing, no taxes eating at it, giving her real peace over those 20 years. Anything helps: five bucks, twenty, whatever. Can't? Just share. Tell folks about the crossing guard who's kept their kids happy with a smile and will continue to keep crossing them.

She's my hero. Time she got some back.

Your loving son, Justin
