The community of San Diego lost a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, and nurse in a tragic car accident involving a DUI wrong way driver in the community of Del Sur. Sarita Shakya will be remembered as a loving and devoted friend to many. A tireless mom loving her 4 year old daughter Angelina in every way possible. She was nurturing, caring, a teacher, playing and loving her with each breath and each step she took. Sarita and Angelina shared a special bond that only a mother and child can share. Even though Sarita might not be here physically anymore, she will always be in Angelina’s heart. All Angelina has to do to find mommy is look into her own heart and mommy is there. Sarita and Angelina had a special phrase that only they shared together. Often times repeating back to each other “Mommy’s Love Never Ends.” Truly, Sarita’s love for Angelina will be carried on in the hearts of many and will be honored and cherished by Angelina’s surviving father, Peter.


Her family and friends and greater community are in shock and disbelief.  We stand united as one with her family and mourn the loss of her unexpected and abrupt loss. We have an opportunity to support this amazing family and this precious little girl who may not understand today all that is going on, but will one day hang tightly to the precious memories she has and feel lifted by the community that surrounds her today to love and cherish her.

The funds will be used in part for final expenses for Sarita, potential support such as travel expenses for her family members (Parents and siblings) who will be travelling from Nepal, and support of Angelina’s education both in the short and long term. As well as any other financial challenges the family may face during this time.
