Mommy of 3 and Healthcare Hero Fighting Cancer
Donation protected
Colleen is a graduate of the KCC Respiratory Therapy program and was working as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Morris Hospital. She is a loving mother of two little girls, Haley and Abby, and is now a new mommy to her baby boy Walter, who was born in August while she was still undergoing treatment for Cancer. She was just getting started in her career as a Respiratory Therapist when she found herself short of breath, which unfortunately led to the diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her lungs. She has been unable to work due to her treatments. Recently she noticed that she had lack of strength in her hand while she was trying to get baby Walter from his car seat, and after tests and a MRI they found lesions on her brain. She is currently awaiting a treatment plan for this new discovery. Colleen is the sweetest soul and needs our help right now to get through this. If you have anything to spare please know that she is soo grateful and appreciative. Let's not allow her to fight this alone. Her small, young family has been through more than most of us will ever have to, and they don't need to worry about money right now, especially at the end of this horrible year and the start of the holiday season that is supposed to be joyous.
The former campaign raised over $10,000 in just a few short months, and I'm confident that we can do that again and then some with your generosity.
Colleen, Matt, and their children live in Morris, IL.
The immediate needs for the financial assistance will be to help pay for travel expenses, lodging, meals, etc. for Colleen's treatments. The funds will also be used to help with monthly bills. Colleen is also concerned about her family's financial well being for the long term, should her treatment not go as planned.
Not everyone is able to commit to financial assistance at this difficult time, so if you would like to offer anything else that would benefit Colleen, Matt, or the children, please let us know. Gas cards, gift cards, Uber eats/Door Dash credit.... just a few things that come to mind that you may be able to help with.
***Sorry Matt, I tried everything I could think of to fit the rest of you in this photo! :)****
