Mommy Fable needed emergency surgery to save her life.

Hi! As some of you may know, my foster cat, Fable, was pulled out of our county shelter two weeks ago. She was very pregnant, and I took her in as a foster for Castaway’s Pet Rescue. Last night, she went into labor. After a few hours, it was clear she needed emergency intervention. I had to rush her to the pet emergency room where they had to perform an emergency c-section to save her. One of her babies was stuck in the birth canal and didn’t make it. This is a rare occurrence in cats but happens on occasion. Fortunately, mom and two healthy babies were able to make it through the surgery. However, the surgery bill is over $3000 and the rescue is in desperate need of emergency funds.

We did what we had to do for Fable to ensure she and her babies would survive. She now never has to go through the trauma of birth again, and we can find great homes once they are ready.
