"Mommy" - A Short Film

Hey!

We are film production students at Santa Barbara City College, and are currently in pre-production of our short film, "Mommy."

The story follows an older female co-worker who grows fixated with a younger male’s “mommy issues” and attempts to replace his mother.

My name is Micah Eley, and I am a second year film student at Santa Barbara City College! I have always been a movie lover, since I was a little kid. There was a lot of fear growing up, and I never felt like I could make a jump towards my dream of making movies. Recently, I threw myself all in when I moved to Santa Barbara, and have started to get involved in the local filmmaking scene. “Mommy” will be my directorial debut, and I couldn’t be more excited to work with a creative and hardworking crew to bring my story to life.

BUDGET BREAKDOWN:
Crafties/Catering - We are so lucky and grateful to have a strong crew coming on to this project. We plan on about a minimum of 3 days, with potential extra days which can drive up food costs to feed our awesome crew. Keeping everyone well nourished and happy is so important during long shoot days. This is why we are estimating $700 in food expenses.

Production Design & Costumes - There are tons of small little props, costumes, and set elements that we would love to acquire for this film. All these pieces add up to make a very stylized and strong production. We are estimating around $550 for production design.

Equipment - We are really lucky to have access to a plethora of equipment from Santa Barbara City College. As of now, we do not need a plethora of gear, but some small things are needed. We estimate about $100 in equipment rentals.

Transportation - We plan to carpool crew in order to save gas, but there will be some costs that come along with moving a large amount of people. We estimate transportation to cost around $200.

Festival Entry - We are really excited about the end goal of this project! Hopefully we can throw “Mommy” into the festival circuit. The entry fees can be super expensive! So we are estimating around $250 in entry fees.

Thank you again for all the support and believing in our film! We are so thrilled to bring “Mommy” to life! If you are unable to donate, we’d love it if you could share this fundraiser with anyone you know!
