UPDATE:

My parents are floored at the amount of donations they've already received! Thank you all for the generosity and support.

I spoke with my dad yesterday -- I called him late last night to tell him I was finally able to set up withdrawals for the funds. My news couldn't have come at a better time...we spoke on the phone while he was on his way with my mom to UCSF. She has been having complications due to not being able to afford the anti-rejection medicine (the whole reason I began this campaign).

So now is more time than ever to stress that my mom needs some help. Literally not being able to afford her medicine is the reason she is having complications. She has to be on certain medication for 6+ months, at a cost of roughly $1,400 PER MONTH...

My dad is now able to purchase the first round of medication, but this campaign needs to reach the goal (and even continue beyond!) for my mom to continue recovering without any other setbacks, and to ensure she does not continue with any other complications.

Thank you again to everyone who has donated, shared the campaign on social media, etc. My mom has shed tears of happiness with every new donation that comes in...and I'm very proud of my dad for letting me help him swallow his pride and take some help from people who love him :)

LOVE YOU ALL!!!! <3 <3 <3

*******

The past few years have been rough on my parents.

After a long journey of dialysis and a plethora of other problems, my mom finally received a kidney from a cadaver donor. Pretty fucking sweet, right?

But the journey is far from over, and this journey isn't cheap.

My mom obviously has been unable to work much, and due to the time needed to care for her--on top of dealing with his own life--my dad has taken a huge cut in ability to have time to work as well. This is after spending years overseas in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., away from his life and family, becsuse it was the best paying job he could get, and he needed it cause women ain't cheap AM I RIGHT!? (three daughters and a wife? Do the math $$)

They've done a lot for people, and could use a bump to help get caught up and be in a better condition overall to help my mom recover from the new chance at life she has been gifted.

They've done so much for so many; I'm hoping I can see it come back to them in a beautiful way.
