Born in South Korea on July 7, 1946, Su Yun Yim, my mother, an immigrant herself, but one who also helped many like her immigrate to The United States, passed away a fighter. She had fought her way to survive a liver transplant and at the peak of her recovery, had a devastating fall. With a laughter that could make the whole room laugh with her, my mother was always someone who wanted to help and give anything she could.
Unfortunately, on April 3, at approximately 2:30AM she passed away. We hope to honor her wishes of cremation and hope to spread her ashes to all the places she only dreamed of going. We will be having her cremated here in Illinois and will be taking her to New York to have her life celebrated with family and friends. We also plan to stop in Nashville, TN, where my mother lived for more than three decades to have a memorial with friends, Paris( where she had always wanted to go), California, and her homeland, Korea. I have been receiving messages regarding flowers or a donation in her name so decided to set this gofundme page to help with fulfilling her wishes.
