Momma Pam and Papa John Liver Transplant Fund

Dear friends and family, we're reaching out to share some difficult news about our beloved mother, Pamela. She's a selfless woman who has dedicated her adult life to nursing, serving her community tirelessly, and raising three children with love and selflessness. Despite leading a healthy and loving lifestyle, she was diagnosed with non-alcoholic end-stage liver disease (NASH) in October last year.

Shortly after diagnosis, our entire family was shaken to its core when Pamela had to be hospitalized for six weeks in November. This hospitalization was perilously close to being fatal and resulted in a severe loss of mobility and strength. Since January, our father has stepped up as a beacon of relentless support, providing 24/7 care for our mother.

Over the past six months, our parents have committed themselves daily to rebuilding Pam's strength and regaining her independence. This journey has been replete with numerous doctor visits, physical therapy sessions, occupational therapy appointments, and countless medical tests, all aimed at getting her on the transplant list.

Through all of this, Pamela's spirit remains unbreakable. She has not once voiced a complaint, instead battling persistently to regain her health and return to enjoying life, her family, and her new granddaughter.

Sadly, the past week brought a relapse that has been heartbreaking for our family. Normally, we prefer dealing with such situations privately, but we now recognize our need for increased support from our loved ones. Our previous attempt at nursing home care led to a return hospitalization for our mother. Consequently, we are hoping to secure at-home assistance to alleviate our father's burden and ensure Pamela receives the round-the-clock care she needs as she fights for her life. We're also seeking help with accrued and future medical expenses, including post-transplant costs.

Pamela is presently navigating the intricate process of being evaluated for a liver transplant. We are under no illusions about the long and demanding road that lies ahead. She's seen nearly every medical specialist imaginable, first to qualify for the transplant, and subsequently to ensure she can endure the transplant and the subsequent recovery.

In response to these circumstances, we are launching a GoFundMe campaign for our parents today. Our father, who's juggled his full-time job with providing unwavering, round-the-clock care, embodies the selfless spirit Pamela has always shown us. His commitment to finding every possible avenue of relief for her—by researching diets, exercises, medications, and the best doctors—has been nothing short of extraordinary.

We, too, are contributing as much support as we can, but we acknowledge that additional assistance is needed. Our aim is to bring our mother, known for her sass, kindness, and caring spirit, back to a state where she can enjoy life again. The past seven months have been tough on her, but she has been an extraordinary patient throughout.

Your love, support, and prayers mean the world to us. Any contribution to the Momma Pam and Papa John fund would be deeply appreciated by our family.

Thank you,

Dana, Jared, and Evan.
