Hello everyone,

This is not something that I ever thought I would have to do, but I am here to ask for help on behalf of my beautiful mother. Roni Jean Everhardt, mother to 9 children and countless friends of mine, has been diagnosed with kidney cancer and told the entire kidney must come out as soon as possible. While she is strong and independent, I know she is just as scared as I am (with good reason!) She is a humble server at a restaurant in the French Quarter, and while she is excellent at her job, anyone in the service industry knows that sudden expenses can snowball into something unmanageable. The cost of the surgery will need to be partially paid for by her, as well as cost of living and bills for the weeks of recovery afterwards.

She will be on bed rest for a minimum of 5-6 weeks if surgery goes ideally. She still has 2 children living at home that are in high school and cannot do much to help monetarily (all of their funds come from an allowance my mom gives them anyway, haha). Any money raised from this campaign will go towards her out of pocket costs and food/bills/misc school fees for the recovery period. As more information from diagnostics comes in, the fundraiser may change depending on what the doctors say. Surgery is set for August 26th. If you are reading this and can give up a morning coffee for a few days, please know that any amount will be life changing for my family and I.
