Her Last Request

My Mom is the type of person who will ever ask for help. -She also has one of the biggest and most broken hearts of anyone Ive ever known...never good at expressing her feelings or emotions.

Most of her childhood was spent sick... and later as a single mom I didn't get to know her like most kids do their mothers since she worked such long hard hours at a local lumber yard. Later I learned that she was constaly haggled for being one of the only female employees doing a mans job. While I stayed at my grandmas.

My Mom was the youngest of 6 and when my grandma needed daily care it was her that stepped up and cared for her EVERYDAY for years until her passing this last November.

Sadly, just 3 weeks after my grandmas passing my Mom at the young age of 62 was diagonesed with not 1 but 2 types of late stage cancers. Stage 4 Lung and Stage 3 Jejunal.

It became my turn to be the caregiver...I am her only child and she is unmarried. I have been with her just a few short months now, our time togther has been bitter but sweet as Im finally getting to know the Mother Ive always wanted. ...how unfair it feels that I might now loose her after all this.

Her last wishes are humble...she wants to road trip !! Mostly she wants to see New Orleans and listen to some back woods music, try crocodile and smell the ocean.

I scraped together enough to rent us an RV and motorized scooter for her to buzz around on at stops- but we are going to need some funds for gas, food, and whatever other experinces might catch her eye like say a fan boat ride...and if I can cordinate in a few surprise ideas I have I will.

I wasn't sure on how much to post this for because anything left over Mom could most definitely use towards all her bills and medical expenses.

Time is of the essence so we will be leaving on this last hurrah Easter Sunday. Mom wants to learn how to video and whats me to post our adventure on my YouTube so you can all follow along should you choose.
