Help Our Mom Recover After Her Lung Transplant
Donation protected
We are writing with a heart full of gratitude and hope as our mom begins her recovery from a life-saving double lung transplant. After years of watching her struggle to breathe, we are finally on the other side of surgery—but the journey is far from over.
Our mom has always been a fighter—incredibly hardworking, humble, and generous to everyone. She has shown us what a good work ethic looks like, how to serve others, and how to hold onto faith even when things seem impossible. But her lung disease has taken so much from her: her strength, her independence, her freedom.
Our mom has battled both pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension—two progressive, life-threatening lung conditions. Pulmonary fibrosis is a cruel and progressive lung disease that permanently scars the lungs over time, making it harder and harder to breathe. Pulmonary hypertension is a form of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart, putting tremendous strain on her entire body. Together, these diseases made even the simplest tasks extremely challenging.
After years of fighting, our mom finally received the gift of new lungs. We are beyond thankful to the medical team and the donor who made this miracle possible.
Now begins the most critical chapter: recovery.
To give her the best chance at a healthy future, our mom is required to stay close to the transplant hospital for a few months for intensive follow-up care. Our sister, Mai Nou, is her full-time caregiver during this time, and she has graciously temporarily stepped away from her normal life to be by our mom’s side 24/7.
We are now facing significant out-of-pocket costs, including:
- Temporary housing near the transplant center
- Travel costs to and from appointments
- Medications, medical supplies, and special dietary needs
- Food and daily living expenses while away from home
- Caregiver expenses
We’re asking for your support to help relieve some of the financial stress so we can focus on what matters most—healing. Every single donation, no matter the amount, helps us stay afloat during this critical time. Your support means giving our mom a real chance to rebuild her life with new lungs and a hopeful future.
If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing our story. Your love, prayers, and encouragement lift us up every single day.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
