Momentum Israel Men's Trip
Congregation Har Shalom (CHS) is preparing to send a group of men — specifically fathers of school age children — on a transformational journey to Israel through an extraordinary organization called Momentum. Here’s what the Momentum website has to say about this once-in-a-lifetime experience, including a video about a Momentum Men’s Trip in October of 2017:
”The MoMENtum Men’s Trip is a boot camp for living awesome lives that are guided by Jewish values. Men enjoy empowering classes led by world-class Jewish educators and Israeli thought leaders; explore spiritual Tzfat and Masada’s desert magic; enjoy Shabbat in Jerusalem with local families; and discover how to connect more deeply with themselves, their families, and their communities.”
This is more than just another guided tour of Israel; the men and women who participate in Momentum trips return as energized and passionate leaders who strengthen their families’ and communities’ connections to Judaism and Israel, as well as their own. CHS sent a group of mothers on a Momentum Israel trip in December of 2019, and the impact on them and our community has been profound and lasting. The upcoming men’s trip — together with additional trips planned in 2022 and 2023 — will enhance and expand Jewish life in northern Colorado for generations to come. Hazak, hazak, venit hazek! “Let us be strong, let us be strong, let us strengthen one another!”
While both Momentum and the State of Israel partially subsidize these trips, participants are still responsible for significant costs. And our small (but mighty) Jewish community in northern Colorado does not have the financial resources and Federation support that larger communities do, so that means we have to fundraise. I am co-leader for a group of twelve CHS dads planning to go on this trip, and we need to raise $10,000 to send everyone. We have a number of fundraising activities planned — and we’re also hoping that you will consider making a gift of any size to help us out!
Thank you so much for your consideration, and be well! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or need additional information.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Nate
