ABLAZE Productions presents a new tragicomedy "Moments Alone" by emerging new playwright Moya Noctor.
"Moments Alone" will debut at the Libra Theatre Café, London on 28th July and will run until 30th July.
Help us raise money for our small team to bring new Irish writing to London this Summer. Funds raised will go towards our team's travel and accommodation costs, as well as production costs such as set and props.
About "Moments Alone":
They call it the Great Flood.’
Noah is thirteen when she is graced with her first period. Now twenty-four, and newly--finally--diagnosed with endometriosis, she sits in a cave alone.
It's damp, it's dark, and it's hers.
A mini fridge stocked with cheap G&T tins, a CD Player, and 'The Very Best of Dolly Parton (Remastered)' are Noah's sole companions as she grapples with a diagnosis no one has an answer for.
As she recounts her experience of period pain, fruitless GP visits, and disintegrating relationships, Noah discovers her moments alone are a necessary respite from a world that refuses to accommodate her, wherein she can deal with her grief for the life she thought she would have and plan for what is, inevitably, next.
‘Moments Alone’ is a tragicomic take on chronic pain, medical misogyny, and loneliness.
It draws on the writer’s own experience of living with the condition and the testimonies of others affected by endometriosis, adenomyosis and PCOS.
There are no shortage of stories—this is only one.
