Lost Everything, but I Haven’t Lost Hope!

I am Mo’men Gherbawi, a young Palestinian from Gaza. I dreamed of a bright future after high school, but instead of celebrating my success, I found myself running from bombs and destruction, just trying to survive.

My Life Changed in an Instant!

Our home was destroyed in the bombing, leaving us with nowhere to return to.

My older brother lost his job after the occupation wiped out the area where he worked.

My school and my sister’s university turned into shelters for displaced families, leaving no classrooms for students.

We spent everything we had just to escape and make it to Egypt after six months of horror.

How Did We Survive?

We fled multiple times under bombs and gunfire, carrying what little we had in plastic bags, running through rubble and smoke, never knowing if we’d survive. Our last stop was Rafah, which is now under siege, where we faced hunger, illness, and fear until we finally made it out.

My father suffers from severe back problems, making him unable to work, and his medical treatment is extremely expensive.

Despite Everything, I Still Have a Dream!

I want to go to university and build a future, to help my family get back on their feet. But today, we have no home, no income, and no way to start over.

I’m managing this fundraiser on behalf of my family. Since GoFundMe doesn’t support the country we currently reside in, the donations are being received through a trusted family friend in the UK, Hassan Aloul. He is helping us by withdrawing the funds into his bank account and coordinating with us directly to distribute the funds for urgent needs such as rent, medical treatment, and education expenses.
