Its time to help someone who never stops helping others!
Mom to two great kids, loving wife, and talented Toledo area artist Dani Herrera has been helping others with her unique artistic gifts for many years. Because of her compassion for others, Dani has donated countless many art pieces to charities and fundraisers for people going through loses or health challenges, never asking anything in return. Dani has been called upon many times to create works of portrait art of loved ones lost, using items from that person whether it be the shirt of someone’s mom or dad, or the fur of a loved pet. A unique gift she uses with love and care for her clients. Now, Dani needs our help.
After suffering intense, debilitating headaches in 2014, Dani was finally diagnosed as having a rare type of pituitary tumor which lead to surgery to remove the mass. Incredibly, her son Elijah has also been diagnosed with the same type of tumor but it hasn’t progressed as much as Dani’s. Unfortunately, in 2017 after once again suffering from intense, debilitating headaches, Dani found out the tumor had returned but this time had doubled in size. After rounds of radiation treatment, this now has led to having necrosis of the brain causing more issues. After seeing many specialists, her next step is to start traveling to the Cleveland Clinic for more specialized treatments. Along with endless medical bills that arrive weekly in excess of over $10,000.00, now travel expenses to cover gas, turnpike tolls and possible lodging have to be factored in. This has created an enormous financial strain on this young family of four. For the record, this incredible woman never complains, is always positive and never asks for a thing from anyone.

Dani’s Family: Dani met her husband of 17 years Jose Herrera, when they became pen pals while he was serving in the United States Army. Jose, also an artist, gets to use his sculpting talents to build exhibit, scenic and interactive elements for a local company. Their children, Elijah age 16 and Dahlia age 10 following in their parent’s footsteps, and constantly creating with their parents at home. The Herrera’s are a tight knit, loving family never hesitating to help those in need. Thank you for considering helping them out.
