Mom said “Yes” to Treatment How Can I say “No”?

Hi Everyone,

My mother, Maria Bacarra, has been readmitted in the hospital 2 days ago due to weakness on her lower legs and left arm. Most of you know that my mom just had total left mastectomy 9 days ago. We thought the weakness on her left arm was only due to the operation. Sadly, 3 days ago, her legs started to feel heavier than usual. Thus, we decided to rush her in the emergency room. They ran an MRI of the brain. Yesterday, I called her on my way home and heard what I dreaded the most. Her MRI result presents a mass in the right side of her brain that requires radiation therapy since it affects her movement and walking. I could not believe that our trials came one after the other without cease. Just this June 2018, she had her partial mastectomy on the same breast.  I thought the whole world turned his back on us. I thought the tumor on her brain was the terminal stage. Yet, I was able to talk to the neurologist last night, and he said we have one more option that is Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) radiation therapy. It is a non-surgical radiation to treat small tumors of the brain and it minimizes the damage on the surrounding tissue of the tumor. The doctor said that we are going against time and we need to get it done as soon as possible because the tumor progresses quickly. The doctor and I asked her if she wanted to undergo another radiation on her brain and she said yes immediately without hesitation. Our family and I wanted to give her another chance to live and maintain her quality of life. However, we cannot do this alone. To be honest, we are exhausted emotionally, physically, and especially financially. Nonetheless, how can I give up on her when she is still willing to fight and she wanted to live for us? That led me to post on gofundme again. Last November 2016, many people also made her whole brain radiation therapy happen. We truly appreciated everyone who assisted us emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially. As you can see, with your generosity my mom was still able to live for two more years after the treatment. Now, we are humbly asking for another assistance from you. There is no such thing as small donation. We ask for advices, resources, prayers, and other means of help we can get to assist her. The doctor gave us an ultimatum of a week to get the radiation done. They are concerned that if we wait too long, my mother will no longer be qualified for the SRS because the mass is too big for the radiation. Thank you for your time reading our story. Thank you in advance for your prayers and generosity.
