Mom tragically paralyzed needing your help
Donation protected
On Tuesday March 2, 2022 our world was flipped upside down, our mom and grandma to 4 is now paralyzed due to a gunshot wound through the neck that unfortunately shattered a couple of vertebrae on her spine. This all occurred in her travel to Mexico when a gunshot was fired and went through her window. She was in trauma center in Mexico for quite a while to stabilize her and thought I was losing her before I can get to her. I, living in NJ jumped on the next flight available to be by her side. My brother's fast actions saved her life and I am eternally grateful for his bravery. Her surgery performed took a little over 7 hours the next day to insert rods to stabilize her neck to at least be able to sustain her head up. This is undoubtedly a life debilitating injury. Unlike our health system in the US that we are used to, All procedures in Mexico are C.O.D. (they will ONLY help if you can pay for the procedures and medical attention each day of treatment) Thanks to the love and support from family we able to gather enough for these past few days, but her recovery time will be extensive and her long journey ahead expensive as well.
We are extremely heartbroken, and in disbelief this would happen to our outgoing, full of life 60+ year old mom, the pillar of our family.
Please consider making a donation to help support our mom for this long journey ahead. 100% of donations will be for medical expenses, and to make our mom comfortable with a handicap accessible bedroom and bathroom with a ramp to get in the house, a proper wheelchair, a caregiver to help, and adjustments to her vehicle so may transport her to any appointments and many other unexpected necessities. Unlike the USA, Mexico does not have any government support for this. Our goal is to bring her back home to the US when she's can endure the long travel.
We have not lost hope and we have faith that my mom can overcome any obstacles. Our mom has always been a strong warrior.
We thank you for your continued love, prayers and generosity!
