As a mom, there is nothing harder than watching your child suffer and not being able to take their pain away. My daughter Zoey is only 20 years old, yet instead of enjoying her youth, she spends most of her days in pain & fighting debilitating health issues. We believe she’s battling an autoimmune condition, but she still needs proper diagnosis and treatment.
This summer, we left our home in Newfoundland and moved to Quebec in hopes of finding better resources and a fresh start. It was a leap of faith, but one I had to take for her.
Unfortunately, Quebec requires a 3-month wait before we can access healthcare, and in the meantime her medical costs, daily needs, and our living expenses continue to add up.
Right now, our biggest struggle is simply making our new apartment livable. We arrived with very little, and after covering the basics like rent, food, and bills, there’s nothing left for furniture.
At the moment, our home is nearly empty aside from a couch, chair, and bed.
Every contribution—big or small—will help us create a safe, stable space where Zoey can focus on her healing and school. And if you’re not able to give financially, sharing our story means the world to us too.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for helping us turn this apartment into a true home.
Heather & Zoey
