Many of you may not know but I lost my cousin in 2014. Sarah was 29 years old and was suffering more than any of us knew. My life forever changed when I lost her and I knew that somehow some way I would make her life worth more than she thought it was.
Unfortunately my niece Kaitlin is dealing with something similar and I couldn’t just sit back and watch while someone very important to me continued down the path of self harm.
Addiction is a disease and many people don’t make it out alive, however this time is going to be different. She wants to live, she asked for help before it was too late. I wish Sarah would have asked for help.
I can tell you that this young mother, her amazing boyfriend of more than 14 years, and their two kids deserve a fresh start. Considering every obstacle they have already overcome together, I know they will conquer this one as well and I will do whatever I can to help them achieve that. She leaves for a treatment facility on Sunday and although our family has come together to cover majority of the fees it won't end their for Kaitlin, every little bit will help her to get back on her feet. If you or anyone you know has suffered from addiction you know what our family is dealing with please help by sharing or contributing.

Thank you
