We are currently staying in hotels and Tonight (01 Nov 2019) we go to my mom's till Sunday. I'm working on a plan to get us into a place as soon as possible. For 1st months rent and deposit is going to be $3900. I put a $500 holding deposit on a place today ans I need to come up with the other 3400 by Monday (04 Nov 2019) morningl. Each day we are out on the street is getting expensive and after this weekend I won't have a loaner car anymore and I will have to Uber the kids to school from whatever hotel we are able to get into Sunday night. I've reached out to a few groups like SSVF and Catholic Charities, and the VFW. The VFW looks promising, but the others have said that with my VA disability, in San Joaquin County, I'm over the income limits for assistance. I had HUDVASH but when I ported it from Santa Cruz County to SJC, I was over the income limits. To reapply and get housing through HUDVASH/Section 8 will take months. I'm gonna need help. Between, food, hotel, rental application fees, etc. I am struggling to get by and get into the house and I will need beds for my kids and household things such as dishes, pots ane pans etc. I need to get into the place I applied for. Not to mention the money to turn on the utilities and it is going to be hard for me to repay any loans I get to try and get into a place. If you can help, thank you.
