Need help while on medical leave for new diagnosis

Hi my name is Dawn and I’m fundraising to cover loss of wages due to a medical leave. I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of migraine with aura called hemiplegic migraine.

April 26th I went home sick from with a headache. I woke up confused, off balance, slurred speech and not able to say correct words. My family took me to the ER where they did a stroke emergency and gave me clot busting meds to reverse a possible stroke. After testing the results showed I did not have a stroke. They then diagnosed me with this rare disease.

I am out of work due to the brain fog, word finding and memory loss. Some days I’m doing really well and others I find trouble communicating.

I am on a new medication that doesn’t work so am waiting to get another one prescribed. Navigating the healthcare in this post pandemic world is really tough. I can’t see my neurologist until July 25th.

I am out of paid leave and will get a new disability claim but it won’t be enough to pay the bills.

I have three special needs kiddos including my oldest who is 24 and disabled but helps pay a portion of the rent and food costs. My youngest is non verbal autistic and my middle child is also autistic.

We are in need of help with paying bills this next month or two. We will need help with travel costs to Rochester in July and Boston in December for a headache specialist.

We are still trying to dig out of debt from my emergency pacemaker with a slew of complications last year that prompted the need for a gofundme last year that hit goal and saved us from homelessness.
