Mom of Four Facing A Road To Recovery

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out during an incredibly difficult time for our family—a time when I never imagined I’d need to ask for help. As a mom of four, I’ve always prided myself on being self-sufficient and doing whatever it takes to provide for my family. But right now, life has brought challenges I simply can’t face alone.

I’ve recently developed serious health issues that have left me unable to work. It’s suspected that I have a herniated disc in my spine, which has caused me to lose function in my left leg, and I may also have a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak. These conditions have made it impossible to care for my family or continue work. An urgent referral for an MRI down island is hopefully happening this week, but until we know more, the treatment plan and timeline remain uncertain.

To make things even harder, my husband has had to take time off work to support me and help care for our children. With bills and the holidays around the corner, the financial strain is overwhelming.

Reaching out for support like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Asking for help is something I’ve always struggled with, but I know this is bigger than me—I’m doing this for my family, for my kids, and for the hope that we can make it through this together.
