Mom & Newborn in Hospital after bad car accident

UPDATE 11/28/2022: Josie is now out of the hospital and in Rehab. Baby Spencer passed away 11/26/2022 at 11:45pm. 

Hello, my name is Laura; I'm fundraising for my cousin Jarod and his family. Jarod(23) and Josie(20) are a young family and have been together for six years. They were so excited to find out they would welcome a baby boy at the beginning of December 2022. Last spring, Jarod and Josie moved from the Metro Politan area to Traverse City, MI, so that Jarod could start an apprenticeship in Heating and Cooling. 

Yesterday, around 3:00 p.m, Jarod and Josie were in a bad accident. They hit black ice in Traverse City and went sideways into oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, the car was hit on the passenger side. Leaving Josie and the baby in bad condition. Josie is currently in the hospital in Traverse City, suffering from bad head wounds, a fractured pelvis, a spinal fracture, bruised lungs, and a lacerated liver. If that wasn't bad enough, she had an emergency C-section because the umbilical cord separated from the placenta. Newborn baby Spencer was deprived of Oxygen for 18 minutes. He had to be airlifted to Devoss Children's Hospital.

We know it's close to the holidays, and everyone has their own things going on, but if you can spare anything, it would help them greatly. It's unknown right now how long Josie and the baby will be in the Hospital, and Jarod is currently off work staying in Grand Rapids with baby Spencer. They will need help getting a new vehicle, lose funds from missing work, and hotel stays until the baby recovers or until the insurance kicks in.
