ALS is fatal with no treatments or cure
Donation protected
My son Chris was diagnosed with ALS in 2008. His younger brother Daniel and I (mom) probably had a similar reaction to most people given the news.
1) What will it be like for Chris?
2) What can we do?
3) How long does he have?
The answers were so depressing.
It is an incurable, terminal disease. We were told we would have about 2 to 5 years at best.
11 years later my son is still with us. Chris is lighthearted, easy going, and quietly determined. He has a magnetic personality.
In February of 2019 he received the National ALS Hero award given out to a handful people across the country each year.
There is so much more about Chris that I would like to say. ALS will NOT define him.
On February 21st, Brandon Crawford, Short Stop for the San Francisco Giants, will host his family's 4th annual Crawford Family Charity Golf Tournament in Phoenix. Stephen Piscotty, Outfielder for the Oakland A's, will also be in attendance. His mom Gretchen past away in 2018 from ALS.
All money raised will go to The ALS Cure project, a nonprofit organization started by the Piscotty family.
You can read about the charity golf tournament and the ALS Cure Project via the links below. Chris and I will be honored guests at the event, and I will play in the golf tournament.
Thank you for helping to find a cure for my son!
