Mom & children experiencing financial insecurity
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Heather Bloom. I am a single mom with 3 young children. I appreciate you taking the time to read our story.
2023 was filled with a series of unfortunate events that I could not have been prepared for. We were blindsided by a total loss of our home and all possessions early in the year caused by a flood. Due to unlawful actions of others, we were not able to recoup any insurance claims. We were emotionally, financially and mentally trying to recover from that event when we were hit with a loss of employment in August, followed by a medical emergency when I suffered a stroke in November.
In addition to these struggles, my kids recently lost their paternal grandmother in Dec. who we all loved dearly, my mother suffered another stroke the next day. My son was diagnosed with dyslexia a couple of months ago and is currently being monitored for what we believe are other behavioral and learning disabilities. If we are forced to leave, we will have to start over with new resources in another county, delaying his education plans. These kids have suffered so much loss and turmoil in their short lives, I will desperately do anything to keep them in their current home.
Any funds donated will be used to pay living and medical expenses, vehicle, rent, and utilities until I can return to work. We are facing eviction and car repossession in the immediate future. I am actively working very hard in physical and occupational therapy to regain the deficiencies as a result of the stroke. My medical team has concerns for other underlying causes, I'm currently being monitored closely and going through other testing. I have applied for social security disability and other government assistance, unfortunately that is a long process. As a single mom with 3 kids at home, I do not have the luxury of time.
Thank you for considering our needs. Any amount you are willing to contribute is greatly appreciated. If you are not able to contribute at this time, a share with friends and family would mean so much to us.
