Mom & Daughter facing homelessness.

Hey all - it’s Mimi. I am fundraising to help a friend. If I could handle this myself I would in a heartbeat. Any help is appreciated and never forgotten. I apologize in advance for the typos. This needs to be posted now . This is a person who has paid it forward, doesn’t even want me to post this go fund me. Her Pride. But reality is she really needs the help. So here’s the story.

A Mother, Nurse, 1st responder and a small business owner. I’ve watched her work tirelessly to be able to afford a house, provide safe housing and good school for her child, I’ve watched her rescue animals and people time and time again and now I am watching her life and everything she worked for fall apart because an employer couldn’t have compassion when it was her turn to need help due to a very painful injury to her back in which she herniated her L5S1 vertebrae which hindered her ability to walk independently for over 10 weeks. A back injury whatever you call it . it’s bad , painful.

She’s been dealing with this since March of this year. She initially thought it was just a really bad pulled muscle. She went to the doctors who said she hurt her vertebae that connects to her pelvis was herniated which is why she was having trouble walking. They gave her a month off of work due to the labor intensive positions she held. They told her she needed to rest and heal because if she didn’t she could lose bowel and bladder control due to her injury which would result in emergency surgery.

Despite providing the doctors note to her employer at her nursing job instead of helping her by allowing the days needed to recover fired her . Using really fancy words like voluntary resignation. Thanks to them letting her go instead of letting her heal, this hard working mom is facing imminent danger of being homeless.

Household bills have finally gotten beyond her control despite her efforts to shuffle them. All bills need to be paid, the heat and electric has already been off for 3 weeks despite her multiple attempts to negotiate with the electric company. Her mortgage, phone and auto insurance all need to be paid.

She is willing to sell her house to get out from under this hardship but with no electric a buyer is unable to have the house inspected and walking away from the house with limited to no income isn’t an option for her. This is their only hope to start over. She has exhausted all options.

I know it’s hard times for everyone. But we need to show this woman that all those years of hard work all the times she helped someone else , that it will be paid back 10 fold . We need to show her that we know how painful back injuries are and that she should not have been forced from her job and now her home, she should have been given the chance to recover.

It’s been almost 10 months of pain and worry . Imagine loosing the one asset you have that could change everything .

I ask everyone who took the time to read this to please have compassion for this woman. Please help us help my friend and her daughter pay the bills before it’s lights out on her life . Before it’s freezing out and they’re homeless due to unpaid bills. Please help me bring this nightmare back injury she has endured to an end by helping her pay for what is needed- electric, car insurance. the phone, groceries.
