Mom & Daughter Eviction

Hi, my name is Stacy. I am a 50 year old single parent to a 16-year-old daughter. (What an age.)  I was a Special Ed Teacher for over 20 years mainly in Lansing,Michigan. My family and I moved to LA eight years ago, and I have been a single parent since Covid.  I finished my last two years with LA schools and became burned out. Then I went back to being a nanny full-time. Sad to say that with the right families, nannies can make the same or even more than teachers. BUT working for private families can be very unpredictable.  In March, my daughter and I were very excited to finally move into a bigger place so that we both finally had our own bedroom. It was a big dream risk, but we had waited eight years to do so and the current nanny position I had paid well.  Two weeks after we moved in the family's needs changed and I was let go. I am very grateful I was given severance. Fast forward nearly two months and even though I have been frantically looking for my next family, the process of securing a position privately, and with nanny agencies is slow; especially when you don’t have enough money to pay June’s rent.  I have never had to be evicted before so I’m scared to death, especially after just moving into our place . I’m praying every day my new nanny position is secured . I’ve done a dozen interviews and I’m hopeful and I will never give up. I just need more time but I don’t have much time left to pay June’s rent.  If you’re able to help, please do. My daughter Hanah and I would be immensely grateful. My rent is $3100 which is $1000 more than my last place. (I know crazy.) I had no idea this was gonna happen but after waiting eight years for this opportunity we took the risk because everything was stable at the time.  I’ve got a great résumé with 20 years of teaching experience and 10 years of being a nanny so it’s only time before I find my next great gig.  Thank you so much for reading and if you can help at all, that would be amazing ! Never give up.  (BTW yes I have thought of going back to teaching- but not feasible now. My certs have expired, and the anxiety was too much- my daughter has severe anxiety/ADHD and the demands of teaching is now too much for me to support her needs.)  God Bless and thanks.
