Help me Battle with my Kidneys
My name is Gladys Urbina de Vasquez and my family and I live in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I have three children and four grandchildren who I love very much and who have supported me unconditionally.
22 years ago I was diagnosed with kidney stones. Because of this, I have undergone four operations to be able to remove them. However, the operations have not been successful as I always have my kidney full. These stones have caused a severe infection that has affected all of my blood. As a result of this, the doctors gave me several blood and platelet transfusions waiting for an improvement. Also to be able to combat said infection, they prescribed antibiotics but they were not working since the infection persisted because it was caused by the stones in my kidney. One of the kidneys does not work properly and the one that does work is the one that is invaded by the stones and it is also the one that is at risk of being lost, since it is the one that is causing the infection.
After several days in the hospital, I was diagnosed with Medullary Aplasia. Medullary aplasia is the total or partial disappearance of cells that are found in normal conditions in the bone marrow and act as precursors of the different cells of the blood. As a treatment the Hematologist have me in a very expensive treatment so I can continue giving love to my Family. I would appreciate your cooperation in advance.
Mi nombre es Gladys Urbina de Vasquez y mi familia y yo vivimos en San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Tengo tres hijos y cuatro nietos a los que amo mucho y me han apoyado incondicionalmente.
Hace 22 años me diagnosticaron con cálculos renales. Debido a esto, me he sometido a cuatro operaciones para poder eliminarlos. Sin embargo, las operaciones no han tenido éxito ya que siempre tengo mi riñón lleno. Estos cálculos han ocasionado una infección severa que me ha afectado todo la sangre. A raíz de esto, los medicos me hicieron varias transfusiones de sangre y plaquetas en espera de una mejoría. También para poder combatir dicha infección me recetaron antibióticos pero no estaban funcionando ya que la infección persistía debido a que era ocasionada por los cálculos en mi riñón. Uno de los riñones no me funciona correctamente y el que sí funciona es el que está invadido por los cálculos y también es el que está en riesgo de perderse, ya que es el que me esta ocasionando la infección.
Después de varios días en el hospital, fui diagnosticada con Aplasia Medular. Se llama aplasia medular a la desaparición total o parcial de las células que se encuentran en condiciones normales en la médula ósea y actúan como precursoras de las diferentes células de la sangre. El Hematologo me tiene en un tratamiento, el cual es muy costoso por lo que les agradecería de antemano su colaboración para poder seguir llenando de Amor mi Familia.
