**First Of All allow me to apologize for anyone who has not been updated on Molly’s current status. It has taken me awhile to compile my thoughts in order to write this. We have reached the point where we are out of options and need to ask for help from the community. ***
On November 9th around 9:43 am, I was awakened by a Massachusetts State Trooper calling to inform me that my beautiful 24-year old daughter was involved in a serious roll-over car accident. In this moment, my heart broke and shattered, along with my daughter’s lumbar spine. Luckily, Molly survived the accident, but was in a critical condition. She suffered many fractures throughout and a complete burst of her mid-spine. A life-saving 12-hour surgery had to be performed immediately to decompress the spine from the spinal cord. Molly now has two titanium bars implanted and multiple screws stabilizing her spine. Unfortunately, many motor and sensory nerves were damaged, while others were severed. This is now classified as an “Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury”.
Following a week of intensive care, she has been moved to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, where she is undergoing the second stage of her treatment in hopes of being able to walk and lead an active lifestyle again. At this point the outcome cannot be determined, although her life will be forever impacted. Molly continues to excel everyday with positive energy, courage and strength. Unfortunately, in-patient rehabilitation therapy will end soon due to insurance limitations. Once she is discharged from the current facility, Molly will continue to require extensive outpatient therapy at a facility properly equipped to handle Spine Injuries. Molly’s medical team is very hopeful and has suggested two facilities that are designed specifically for Spinal Cord Injuries. One is Journey Forward in Canton, Ma and the other is Project Walk in Southern New Hampshire. They have state of the art equipment that can assist in Molly’s road to recovery, by directly stimulating the central nervous system. They are also very expensive and not covered by insurance.
This is where I ask all of you to help Molly in reaching her goals.
The timing is especially crucial because the first six months to one year of rehab has the most potential impact for recovery. Unfortunately without long term continued therapy there is a possibility she will regress. This is a marathon, which will be a life long road to a full recovery. However, in order to accomplish this we need to raise money for her out of pocket rehabilitation, a wheelchair and to equip our house for her needs once she is able to come home.

Molly has a very caring soul and has always reached out to less fortunate people by giving her self to others in time of need, now she is in a position of need in which we can all give back to her. Molly’s strength and courage is actually remarkable, though there are very hard days she remains positive and is fighting through. Molly as we all know is a unique young lady who has explored all over this world with so much spiritual love for life. She has always been active, surfing, skating, hiking and adventurous. Her mobility is everything - it is actually who she really is - a free spirit in her own path. Molly is so intense and determined about making her life the way it was and remain free and independent.
She is a young woman with a future filled with hopes and dreams and goals to fulfill. Molly needs our help. She is facing a very long, intense and expensive rehabilitation. Please help MOLLY in this difficult time. Any donation, big or small will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to contribute directly, please help us by sharing this link far and wide through your social circles.During this hard time please keep MOLLY in your hearts and prayers.
Together we can do more… I thank ALL of you for the love and prayers reached out to us.
