Molly's TY volunteer blitz with Mellon Educate in Africa
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Molly Tunnicliffe. I am a Transition Year (TY) student at Manor House School in Raheny, Dublin.
TY is a special part of the education system in Ireland. It gives students the opportunity of learning through experience, with an emphasis on personal development and social awareness.
As part of my TY experience I am volunteering with the Mellon Educate Trust, an Irish Charity established in 2002 to help impoverished children in South Africa access better homes and education. In February 2025 I will travel with students from across Ireland and complete a week of working on school construction sites, participating in literacy and feeding programmes, and interacting one on one with the school children.
To participate in this opportunity I've committed to raising Eur 3,500 and I am currently busy bag packing at supermarkets, odd jobbing and making crafts to sell at local markets.
I only have 10 weeks to raise all my funding so any sponsorship you can give will go a long way to allowing me to undertake this experience and support children in South Africa in having a better life.
Thanks so much for your help,
love Molly x
