£15,000+ already raised – thank you to everyone who has helped Molly get this far.
For anyone who doesn't know Molly, she is a 20-year-old British Alpine ski racer who has spent most of her life skiing and racing.
Molly is a member of the GB Alpine Europa Cup Squad and is heading into the 2026/27 season with a really exciting opportunity – to race a full season of Europa Cups and hopefully put herself in a position to make her World Cup debut.
This is a very different place to where she was when this GoFundMe was first started.
A lot has happened since we started this page
Molly has continued to work her way up through international ski racing and is now
- 64th in the world in Slalom
- 5th in the U21 world rankings
- No.1 ranked female GB Slalom skier.
Her FIS Slalom points have come down, which is a big improvement and puts her in a much stronger position going into the new season.
This summer Molly spent almost six weeks training and racing in New Zealand. It was a big financial commitment and, if I'm honest, I was nervous about spending that money when I knew how much would still be needed for the European season.
The hope was that the racing in New Zealand would give Molly the training, race experience and points she needed to start the European season in a much stronger position.
Thankfully, it really did pay off.
Molly had a fantastic time in New Zealand, winning the NZ Junior Championships Slalom, winning an Australian New Zealand Cup Slalom at Mt Hutt, and achieving several other podium finishes.
She finished the NZ season having won the Slalom yellow bib.
So the money I was worried about spending on New Zealand has, thankfully, helped create a much better starting point for the season ahead.
So what's next?
Molly is now aiming to race a full Europa Cup programme throughout the 2026/27 season, with the goal of getting the results and points she needs to move closer to the World Cup.
She currently has a Slalom starting bib of 31, which is a huge improvement on where she has started races previously. In simple terms, it means she won't be starting right at the back of a large field and gives her a much better opportunity to compete for the results she needs.
The longer-term ambition is to become an established World Cup skier and ultimately have the opportunity to represent GB at the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps.
There is obviously a very long way to go, but this is the path Molly is working towards
The reality of ski racing at this level
The reality is that Molly is still a self-funded athlete.
Ski racing isn't just about getting to the race. The costs build up throughout an entire season.
Molly and I have worked hard to put sponsorship and other support in place, and I'm incredibly grateful to the companies and individuals who have backed her.
But even with that support, there is still a significant amount to find to allow her to race the full programme she needs.
You've already helped get her here
When this GoFundMe was originally started, Molly was trying to establish herself in Europa Cup racing.
Since then, people have donated, shared the page, followed Molly's progress and sent messages of encouragement, and we have now raised more than £15,000.
That money has made a genuine difference and has helped Molly get to where she is today.
I don't want to start again with a brand-new fundraiser and lose all the history of the support Molly has already received. Instead, I'd like to carry this one forward into the next stage of her career.
And if you're finding Molly for the first time, you're very welcome too.
What your support helps with
Donations go towards the costs of Molly's season, including:
• Race entries and lane fees
• Coaching and on-snow training
• Travel and accommodation around Europe
• Flights, excess luggage, fuel, tolls, ferries and vehicle running costs.
• Lift passes and training lanes
• Ski equipment, servicing and maintenance
• Insurance and the many other costs involved in racing internationally
There isn't one huge expense. It is the accumulation of all of these costs over a long season that makes international ski racing so expensive for a self-funded athlete.
Come along for the next part of the journey
I know there is still a long way to go and absolutely no guarantee of where this journey will end. That's sport.
But Molly is working incredibly hard, she is improving and she now has an opportunity to see just how far she can take it.
This isn't meant to be a sob story. I feel incredibly lucky that Molly has the opportunity to pursue something she loves and I'm very proud of how hard she works for it.
I'm simply asking for some help with the very real costs of getting her to the start of the races she needs to be competing in.
For those who have already supported Molly, thank you. You've helped get her to this point and I really do appreciate it.
And if you're new to Molly's story, welcome! I'd love you to come along for the next part of the journey too.
One of the nicest things about having this page has been being able to share Molly's progress with the people who have supported her. From the early races, to the ups and downs of the season, to the yellow bib and results in New Zealand, it has been brilliant to have people following along and celebrating the good days with us.
Your support doesn't just help pay for a race. It helps Molly get to the start gate and gives her the opportunity to find out what she can achieve. And then you get to follow the journey with her.
We'll keep updating the page throughout the season with Molly's races, results, training and hopefully a few exciting moments along the way.
If you can donate, thank you. If you can't, sharing Molly's story is hugely appreciated too.
Every bit of support helps, and we'd love you to be part of the next chapter.
Thank you for taking the time to read Molly's story and for all the support.
From myself and Molly, thank you. We truly cannot do this without you.
