Molly's Parvo Care

My name is Jessica and I am currently trying to raise funds to help with my dog Molly's parvo care at Lancaster PETS ER.

Molly is a 19 week old Mini Goldendoodle. She is our world. We did everything as good puppy parents should. Molly was completely vaccinated, and even a 4th shot of the Parvo vaccine and contracted Parvo Virus sometime in the last two weeks. We kept her away from dogs, out of parks, we did everything we were told. She has been fighting her life since this past Sunday.

On Sunday, May 21st, 2023 Molly became very ill with the classic Parvo symptoms. I took her to the ER vet that evening, followed up with her vet on Monday even though she seemed to be doing a little better. Her normal vet thought it was a possible foreign object in her stomach based on Xrays so we were sent to Lancaster ER for an Ultrasound. She was immediately diagnosed with Parvo needing emergency around the clock care. Our normal vet is besides herself because she's never seen this happen in 23 years of practicing and never thought parvo, knowing we did what we were supposed to.

The cost of Molly's care is running us around $2,500-$3,000 per day. The vaccine manufacturer is going to provide $5,000 of Molly's hospitalization but they won't pay for the entire thing. This essentially covered her first 48 hours in the hospital but Molly unfortunately will not be coming home until at least Saturday. While I do have some funds to work with I am going to approach depleting all my resources for her care by then.

Today, Thursday May 25, 2023 Molly's update was slightly encouraging. She has been keeping her tube feedings down for 24 hours, she's sitting up occasionally and most of her bloodwork is good with the exception of her proteins. They asked if I would consider a plasma infusion and that alone is another $1,000.00. It's getting to to point where money may affect her outcome. She has come so far and I am trying my hardest to give her the best care. She needs to continue to be hospitalized.
