Molly's Painful Journey: We Need Your Help
Donation protected
If you know me at all you'd know I don't ask for help, certainly not financially, but I love my Molly more than my pride. About 6 weeks ago Molly started limping a bit. It got worse and worse despite trying to keep her quiet. She would try walking on only her front feet, but she's not a little pomeranian. My super spaz lunatic Molly dog now needs help getting in and out of vehicles, up on the couch, or her favorite chair where she supervises the neighborhood. She stumbles going down the stairs and spends the majority of her days laying on her designated heating pad looking oh so pitiful. It breaks my heart, I cry every day seeing her try to get around limping so bad.
On 3/27/25 I brought her to Loving Care Animal Clinic in Fremont we tested for many illnesses and had to sedate her for xrays, turns out she has spondylosis, aka bone spurs. I was sent home with meds to give her. Molly in all her lunatic-Ness is extremely aware of meds in treats so that has been a challenge. There hasn't been improvement in her condition. The medicine doesn't seem to help much and it doesn't last long enough either. On the morning of 4/18 Molly had to come snuggle in with me on the couch as she was cold. As she snuggled in, she wet all over the both of us and didn't even notice. This really concerned me. I called the Vet at 8 AM to try to get her back in. Dr. Peter was able to see us thank goodness. We reviewed the xray again, it looks like there's a large chunk of bone spur that had broken off. That's probably what is causing the pain. Molly is being preferred to the neurologist in Farmington at the Blue Pearl Animal Hospital there. My amazing vet tech yesterday helped me with a VERY ROUGH ESTIMATE of $5,000-$10,000 for consultation, testing, and surgery. This is so far beyond our abilities, the $550 we've spent on the vet in the last month was already beyond what I could comfortably afford.
If anyone could help in any way, even small amounts, we would be beyond grateful. Any amounts would be so helpful. If by some chance more is raised than what is needed it will be donated to either Oceana/Newaygo counties Animal shelters, and or a woman who helps lower income people with veterinary care for their fur babies.
