She’s a spicy little calico who bonded deeply with me. Every time I come home, she curls up beside me and presses herself against me. When I put my head down, she rests her head on mine, as if she’s comforting me.
She’s my emotional support, my shadow, my best girl.
On November 26th, everything changed.
I found Molly unable to move her back legs and rushed her to our vet at BLVD, who immediately sent us to the emergency hospital.
Her blood sugar was dangerously low (in the 50s), which likely caused her collapse.
She was hospitalized for two days and diagnosed with:
- hyperthyroidism
- high blood pressure
Molly has also been living with diabetes for the past three years
While Molly survived a serious medical emergency, she remains medically fragile and requires ongoing care.
Follow-up visits, medications, and close monitoring are still necessary as we work with her veterinarians to determine next steps and keep her stable.
I am 72 and living on a very limited fixed income.
I’ve maxed out my CareCredit card on the emergency visit, put the remainder on personal credit cards, and drained my savings.
The financial impact has been overwhelming, and the costs continue to add up faster than I can manage alone.
So far, I’ve paid:
$6,000 – MedVet Emergency
$450 – BLVD Vet
$400 – Medications
Plus ongoing follow-up visits and medication refills
(The full 3 page itemized MedVet Bill is posted in the updates section. January 18th update.)
I’m deeply grateful that she is still with me, and I want to give her the best care possible while we navigate what comes next.
If you’re able to donate, or even just share this fundraiser — it would truly mean the world to us.
Every dollar helps ease the financial strain of this emergency and allows me to focus on caring for Molly during this uncertain time.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, donating, and caring about my girl. — Liz & Molly
