Molly's Vision

You know those friends that you don't often talk to, but when you do, you pick up right where you left off? One of those friends for me is Betsy. I've known her since we were 4. Betsy and her family have the biggest hearts. Betsy and her husband Joel have 2 biological children, now grown, then they adopted a baby girl and a few years later a baby boy. Several years later, they brought Molly over from China for some medical treatment and to help her find a forever family. It was only a short visit and she got her first pair of glasses. Quite unexpectedly, she found her forever family with Joel and Betsy and a whole group of older brothers and sisters. It was still a long haul and painful emotional journey until the adoption was final and Molly would make her way back to the states.  In China, Molly had suffered from an eye infection that had caused severe damage. She has had multiple eye surgeries including a corneal transplant. They have made many, many trips back and forth to Pittsburg from Wisconsin. The transplant is failing and Molly is losing her sight. This last visit was expected to be short and they are now in Pittsburg until at least June 6th. The Ronald McDonald House is closed because of Covid 19 and expenses are mounting. They have been staying in a hotel but could really benefit from a bit more space for the long haul. Betsy and Joel are the most generous people I have met. Besides having a big family, they have welcomed exchange students multiple times and you will always find room at their table for one more. Please consider helping in any way to make this stay more affordable. We are simply trying to help cover some of the mounting bills as they try to run houses in two states. The stress of living apart and a child with severe health issues is difficult enough without the financial issues as well. I pray you find it in your heart to help in any way you can.
