Molly's story...

Meet Molly! 

Molly was born on November 15th, 2015. She lives in Martensville with her two older sisters, Lily and Ella, and  her parents, Kristin and Ian. In 2016 when she was just approaching her 1st Birthday Molly was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. After 11 cycles of Chemotherapy she had surgery in September of 2017 to remove her right adrenal gland, the site of her primary tumor. Her scans had shown that her cancer was gone, but approx 6 months later it was found to have returned.  She was again treated with a few cycles of chemo and she was referred to Alberta Children’s Hospital for a stem cell transplant.  Molly and her parents travelled to Calgary where her own stem cells were taken from her body and frozen.  A few months later they returned to Calgary and spent nearly 2 months in the hospital for her stem cell transplant. This was a very difficult time as this meant Molly and her parents were away from the rest of the family and the girls missed each very much! Molly had done very well from that moment on, but never was there any talk of her cancer being cured and she underwent months of immunotherapy. Just recently, a new tumor has been found and unfortunately her cancer is progressing.  She is beginning a new chemo regime designed to keep her cancer controlled and she will undergo another surgery in Saskatoon in July. She is being reviewed for treatment and a PROFYLE study at the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto with their neuroblastoma team. Molly has been through a lot in her mere 3 ½ years but she continues to dazzle us with her smile and her amazing strength and determination to just be a kid!  What she needs now is help to get her and her family to Toronto for this ground breaking research study in hopes of keeping this cancer at bay.
